Leading the way

Bluffton Elementary School Principal Christine Brown has earned national honors for her work in implementing her school’s computer animation program.  That initiative integrates technology with the arts and allows students to develop and produce their own computer-animated shorts.  The Toon Boom Visionary Educator Award honors a K-12 education leader who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing Toon Boom computer animation technology to improve education.  The award includes software for the school to extend its program to additional students and for more advanced uses.  The total value of the award, including desktop software, iPad applications and related training material and support, is $4,400.  Bluffton Elementary’s computer animation program had achieved previous national recognition when it was featured in a Discovery Channel broadcast.
