School Safety


Since the recent school shootings in Florida, four schools in Beaufort County had been placed on modified lock-downs while administrators and law enforcement investigated possible safety threats.  No actual threats were substantiated, but concerns about school safety continue to be voiced by students, parents and staff.

On March 7, Superintendent Jeff Moss, School Improvement Council members, educators and law enforcement officials met for an extensive discussion about what the district is currently doing to keep schools safe – and what improvements might be made.  You can view the 101-minute video below.
