Pick and Eat

After planting and weeding their garden all spring at Okatie Elementary School, students in the Garden Club harvested red potatoes, green beans and cucumbers that were later served in the school cafeteria for everyone to enjoy.  The goal, said science lab teacher Helen Goodman, is to have students learn where their food comes from and how much time and effort goes into creating it.  Next to be harvested will be tomatoes and cabbages.
