All-American Honor

Bluffton High School defensive end Shameik Blackshear, one of the nation’s top high school football players, saw his senior season end early due to a knee injury.  His injury meant that although he had earlier been invited to participate in the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., he wouldn’t be able to play. But Blackshear received his game jersey anyway at formal ceremonies in Bluffton.  This latest recognition tops a long list that includes being the top-rated high school player in South Carolina, the nation’s fifth-rated high school defensive end and the 58th-rated high school player in the nation overall.  Blackshear has verbally committed to play at South Carolina over numerous other offers that included Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and Clemson.
